Article Marketing With Video – A Good Idea?

Most of the time bad video happens by accident – but other times people go out of their way to make really bad videos.

Here's an example of that.

I'd heard of software that will take articles and create videos from them, but hadn't seen it in the wild, until I came across this site.

While I agree with the concept of repurposing content to create more content in different formats, what this software does is just…. wrong.

They basically take an article, create a slideshow video with some pictures, put the text of the article in front of the pics, and have a robotic voice read the article.

The result is ugly and unengaging. It may work on some level for video seo purposes, but I can't imaging someone seeing a video like this and saying to themselves, "oooh, I want to get more of that!"

I expect that videos like this get some benefit to the creator from a search listing standpoint, as is the nature of online video, but it's not going to engage people and get them to take action.
