YouTube's Dirty Secret for Video SEO
There must be a deep dark secret to getting your video to rank well in YouTube, right?
Yes!
If by "deep dark secret" it mean providing quality content that people are interested in watching.
The fellas over at ReelSEO posted a clever animation that demonstrates what really takes to get your video to show up on the first page of YouTube. It's pretty funny, and the bottom line is that you don't need to play tricks, be spammy, or do anything that you'd be ashamed to tell your mother.
Of course, there are people who do those things (the things that you would want to tell your mother) and they seem get results in the short term, but in most cases I've seen their videos in getting pulled by YouTube and their accounts banned.
The bottom line is produce good quality content, participate in the YouTube community by leaving comments and subscribing to others video feeds, and even make a few friends if you seem to have enough in common.

Genius! Lol. Amazing how some people think they have to sink very low to get a high ranking.
This is good to know. I'm kind of ashamed to mentioned, I had recently become a bit fascinated by black hat marketers. It's good that you have now put my interest to bed. I will now stick to techniques I'm not afraid to tell my mom about.
Who woulda thunk it?!
Love this post man. I just see too many people with bad you tube videos. Makes one think, are they trying to get ranked or just wasting their time????
Wasting their time – and ours – by making crap content.
